The Next James Bond - MI-6's 007....

Apparently an announcement is forthcoming...possibly Friday on the next James Bond in the upcoming movie "Casino Royale" (Ian Fleming's First Novel)...

It's being widely held that Daniel Craig will be the new James Bond.

So....is the world ready for a sandy-haired James Bond?

He looks more action then Pomp....It might work but will hard to replace the Original two....Nobody else has to this point IMHO....

Sean Connery created and defined the character, as far as I'm concerned. Since then, they're all mere shadows. Not bad actors, as some of them have great talent, but none of them has been the quintessential Bond.

Sean's always been my favourite too.

I prefer the dark, suave and mysterious style. A blonde actor just won't have that effect.

Clive Owen could have been good now he's matured and filled out (King Arthur). But he's never done a sophisticated role, to know if he's up it.

I flew over Ian Fleming's country house once in a microlight - a Bond like moment!

...apparently the role was Clive Owen's for the taking....he passed. Sadly in my opinion.

Sean was Bond, no doubt. Timothy Dalton was a mistake - but only slightly better than George Lazenby...The Roger Moore years made Bond a laughable caricature of the role Fleming envisioned...Brosnan brought the role back to some respectability...

I think they're headed in the right direction with a lesser known actor like Craig - but I don't think he could pull it off, right off hand...

Sean Connery was mostly an unknown quantity when he became Bond.
I think they need to keep looking.

I turned the role down too! Too much exposure for my real covert activities for her Majesty.

A couple of the lead characters in the BBCs spooks series have potential - maybe when they're older.

It's that mixture of coolness, class, wit, intelligence and controlled British extreme violence!

I love Bond movies. I have been watching them with my Dad since I was a young girl. I am not taken with this guy as Bond and I just don't think he would entice me to go see a Bond movie with him in it. I definitely prefer tall, dark and handsome with a great wit.

Here are four picks of mine that IMO would make a good Bond. None of them are Brit's, but hey, their actors, they can manage.

The Sean Connery era Bond ladies seemed more curvaceous and less anorexic than the later fembots.
