Ufo
Here is a topic that has not been discused here. No, I have never seen one but someone I know has seen a flying craft that she could not explain.
So here is the question. Have any of you seen a UFO? I don't mean the ones you see when you Lets be serious....is there something you saw that you could not explain and that seemed out of this world?? |

I have never seen one myself. However my mother and my friend claimed to have seen the same thing go over their houses (several blocks apart) at approximately the same time. They both told me about it (independently) the next day. This was about 12 years ago.
Though I have never actually had any proof, their stories were just too similiar and they could not have conferred on it as they hadn't spoken in several years. |

In 1983 myself and two friends were sitting in a parking lot after a rehearsal that had gone late into the morning....We were sitting in a camaro convertible talking about the opening of the show in a couple of days....All of a sudden above us was a saucer shaped ship with softly colored lights around the edge....It made no sound and floated for a minute over us then went off in to the sky....Myself and two friends Darrel and Amy saw this and told several people the next day but no one believed us....We were not on and drugs, alcohol, whatever....Anyone who thinks we are the only living things in the universe is sadly mistaken....

Driving across the desert in California in the early 1980's well after midnight in the early AM hours I noticed a moving triangular shaped object blacking out areas of a star-filled sky...I guess there's an AF Base in the area....later when the Stealth Bomber was rolled out, I thought to myself that must have been what I saw doing some flying that evening...I think that's about as close to a UFO as I've been....even though I lived in Indiana (aren't they always claimed to be landing in Indiana for some reason?), and now not far from Devil's Tower (of Close Encounters fame)...

There are a small number of sightings that cannot be explained away as experimental aircraft or known natural phenomena. It seems logical that there are many other solar systems with planets that can support life. Maybe we are just an experiment or a kennel of pets for a higher order of being. Or not. It seems strange that we are essentially animals with a large brain.

Sure! I have seen lots of Unidentified Flying Objects ...but I am fairly certain they were just satellites, planes, wierd cloud formations or reflected sunlight off of wierd cloud formations, weather balloons, birds, flocks of birds, reflected headlights in the sky, planes, helicopters...etc.I agree Mikey it is pretty arrogant to think we are the only life in the universe...but when you consider intelligent life, of course the chances go way down (considering how miraculous and time consuming it was that we evolved with intelligence). But I do agree there is most likely intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, I do think it is likely fairly rare, although still *likely* though. SETI hasn't heard anything yet, after all- of course they have a lot more of the sky to search for signs still. And we have only been pumping out radio signals that could reach into space for what, 80 years? So no one who IS out there, could even know we are here yet- if they are listening like we are, of course. But- when you consider the chances that there are aliens who regularly visit earth and somehow we don't know it....and you think of how many light years away the nearest star system that possibly *could* have intelligent life...why would they travel all that way to just 'observe' us secretly? It's doubtful. Last edited by Rissask : 10-13-2005 at 01:42 PM. |
