That's funny. We stayed there once, also not knowing about the atmosphere. All we knew is that it was adults only. That was our first trip to Cancun, our second trip to the area. We were even shocked by some of what we saw, and what people would do in front of crowds of people. (eg. the "kissing contest" turns into a live sex show in the lounge after dinner...) I'm no prude, but some of it was too much for my eyes when I just wanted to relax by the pool...I mean, if we wanted to see that stuff we could turn on the porno channel in our room...
We talked extensively with an employee after hours when we saw him at a bar on the strip. He was the first to inform us that 80% of the clientele there are swingers, and he was surprised we didn't know this. |

I was there for 2 weeks over Xmas & New Year. I didn't think it was that bad. There's always the Quite Pool. I had such a blast that I'm going back for 5 days after staying in PDC. I really think that the "swingers" thing is over exaggerated. |

Gotta love the Mirror!
The Mirror is hilarious!
Another fun little article from Mirror found through this link is by a columnist named Tony Parsons and starts off like this: "DO we really want a Prime Minister who has never taken drugs? If you were born at any time since the Second World War, you must have led a pretty sheltered, cosseted and isolated existence to never go anywhere near the odd spliff or line of cocaine. If you grew up at any time since the 1960s, surely just a normal amount of natural, human curiosity would, at some point in your youth, have caused you to say: "Oh, all right, then. Give us a bit. But don't tell my mum." I mean, what kind of squeaky-clean, Bible-bashing, prissy little puritan could grow up in the second half of the 20th century and not take drugs? Oh yeah, Tony Blair." The article is here http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/tonyparsons/ It's not often I find myself reading newspaper articles or columns that start off with insinuating they want their country's leader to have "lived a little" ![]() |

The one thing that comes to my mind is the chant my Ex's band used to yell before they went on stage (with a shot of Jager):
"Here's to the heat!!! But not to the heat that brings out the shanties- but the heat that brings down those panties!!" |
