Some people don't deseve to be parents
So I decide to turn off the hurricane coverge on TV for just a little while, thinking a change can't be a bad thing, right? I'm just getting more and more depressed so off with it for a while is my idea.
Wrong! I turn on MSNBC right in the middle of a press conference about a lady who last night, threw her 3 children, ages 6, 3 and 1, off a pier and into the San Francisco Bay! No words. I can't say that often, I always have too much to say about too many things. But for this, I have no words. Wait, I do.... WHY? Here is the story: Mother Accused of Throwing Kids Into Bay |

I am of a firm belief that people need to be lisenced before they can breed. Requirements would consist of being finacially sound, mentally sound, physically abled, and 2 years of parental classes. Too many children are being brought up in dysfuntional homes and they children are paying the price.

I don't watch the news either, it is all so depressing. I hate hearing all the negative things, just like this story. Mental illness is very sad, but this woman should be held totally responsible for what she did to those innocent children and she should be justly punished for it. And I don't really consider finger painting pictures in a mental institution for the rest of her life punishment so I hope they don't let her off that easy.

That is all so sad. I do not watch the news at all either. I will probably drive me insane. I am a very sensitive person and to hear of something like this happening, just makes me feel so bad. Those poor babies huh? So post partum depression can go on that long? WOW! Someone that would toss thier babies like nothing, really are sick in the head. UGH, I don't even want to think about this anymore.

I went to bed last night and heard that they thought someone was throw off the bridge. I was hoping it was not true. But it is. Wrecked my whole day. I just can't understand why people like that do those things. I'm sure she knew someone she could have called for help. I won't watch the news tonight that's for sure. I'll be sending up lots of prayers tonight for those poor kids.

Just curious, if anyone actually bothered reading the actual story.

PPD is a serious illness, caused by hornonal fluctuations- if that is the mental illness she had of course...and if it was something else, it is nothing short of a tragedy for everyone involved, including the mother....she will never get over this. I for one can dredge up a little compassion for the woman. |

I agree 100% and I've said this for years. You need a license to own a dog or drive a car, but anybody can have a kid. Doesn't seem right. Having a kid should be a privelage and not a right. Jim |

I am not sure how I feel about this, if she was truly mentally ill then it would be difficult to control her own actions, especially if she had voices telling her to do it. It becomes overwhelming, she probably just wanted the voices to stop and that doing what they asked would do it. On the other hand, I can't even imagine what the father of the children must be going through and what the kids were thinking when their mother was doing this to them. Truly awful. |

Another question everyone should be asking is....WHERE IS THE FATHER(s) OF THESE CHILDREN? Is he not responsible for this too? A 23 y/o woman with 3 children, the oldest being 6! Mentally unstable to boot! Where is good ole Daddy??????
