Your question can be answered here.

EDIT: I found this on another thread.

Email from Maya Bric:
Off course it was a big mess after Wilma passed by, but it is incredible how fast everything is getting back to normal! Our hotel is running almost normal again. We cleaned everything and since yesterday we have electricity and running water again. For the moment we only can not provide clean towels every day and the swimming pool is out of service still.
Fifth Avenue is also getting back to normal, with the shops and restaurants opening again. The beach got bigger and the ocean is completely calm. It is a beautiful day today, sunny without any clouds.

Someone was worrying about the Shangri-La's readiness for April 06. Here are some photos taken post-Wilma, including the Shangri-La. I think they will be in fine shape:

And the rest of Playa is looking pretty sharp, too!

I just received responses to my emails to Fusion Hotel. Apparently they weathered the storm ok and are open for business as usual. Unfortunately I had to cancel due to my flight being suspended.

Thank you for these foto's!
I'll will ask my TA tonight if she wants to look this too,so we can fly to PDC Nov.29th because they have cancelled all the flights until Nov.26th,and they told us that is very likely they will cancel our flight too.
But we want to come to PDC and nothing else.
The worse thing people can do is cancel ,if the people of PDC work so hard to get everything fine we MUST go and support them!!

Wonderful to see those pictures. Wish I could get there.
We'll just have to make do with Montego Bay....

Playa next time!

Hello Mark,
We went to our TA tonight and we ask about our options.
They don't know when the Cancun airport will be open again, and yes the flights are cancelled until Nov.26.(from Amsterdam/Holland to Cancun)
We have decided not to cancel but to wait and see wat happens.
We will go to PDC if there is a plane!!! .

I have a reservation to fly into Cancun Nov 24th on Mexicana. It's through Expedia and I just called to check on it. They moved my flight back an hour, but that was it. From what they could tell it was not cancelled. So that's good news. I have faith that the airport will be up and running by then!!!

Riviera Caribe Maya

I received a voice mail message from Paula in which she advised that the hotel did not receive major damage and will be accepting guests as of November 7. They will find alternate accomodations for guests with reservations. They can only communicate via telephone at the present time (they are not able to access e-mail).

I just spoke with Alfredo. He asked me to post the info above along with the phone numbers:

(from US and Canada dial 011 52 first)
984 87 31193
984 87 31194

If either number does not work the on the first try, don't give up. I got through on the second number.

I asked about making reservations for February and would it be best for them if I waited a week or two and did it online. Alfredo advised that would be best.

It was good to hear a voice from Playa, and Alfredo seemed very upbeat.

Eclipse Hotel Open

I received an e-mail from Matias at the Eclipse Hotel saying everything is fine and dandy there. They suffered very little damage and were able to stay open through the entire ordeal. Service is normal. Good news!
