Anyone got an idea on the state of the beach in Playa? Is it still there? I heard reports that the beach was almost completely eroded in Cancun.

thanks Steve, for the photos and the optomistic report! just FYI, Its 0900 in Florida now, the wind is howling outside, and the eye of this storm is over Miami (Still a category 2) At least its moving faster over Florida than it did over the Yucatan.

Good luck with the clean up efforts, and we hope to see you guys next month!

[quote=martb]Anyone got an idea on the state of the beach in Playa?

From the great photos I just reviewed, that Sr. Steve so graciously posted at risk of at least limb (OK, make that "foot"), it looks to me like the beach at Playa stopped for a visit in the Playa-Maya. The new sand bar is sure to be the talk of the town...

Glad to hear that y'all are ok. Sure wish we could be there to have another post hurricane peep meet like the last one. I know you're busy with the clean-up but really appreciate your taking time out of your schedule to keep us updated.

Thanks one more time Steve. This puts many of those doom and gloom reporters in there place. I see alot of surface damage, but the main backbone of Playa is still there as I knew it would be. I would love to see some beach pic's as I'm sure it looks a little bit worse than town. It bet it will be looking good by the end of the week. I did see the big tree by Posada is still there

Hey Steve, don't want to take too much of your time - I know you are super busy
with your clean-up and the stranded guests. TJ and I are so happy to
hear that you, your family as well as your wonderful workers are all doing
well and made it through this monster storm! We would have arrived
today - we are very sad that we cannot be there to help you clean up - but
we are there in spirit! I tell you what - I have prayed for all in
Playa and surrounding area all weekend long and we are amazed at your
spirit and your resilience and the fact that you have such a great bunch of
helpers that work for you! I hope all your workers and their families
are doing okay too! I thought about what kind of damage you might have
the the property we are so glad to hear that your great hotel made it
through okay. And for the sand - I know you will pile all the sand
accumulated around the premises back on to the beach for us . Sorry to
hear about your foot - we (especially TJ) know what that's like... Take
good care and we hope to see you soon.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help with
immediate needs for you or any of your wonderful workers at the hotel.
Take very good care - see you soon in paradise!
Jutta

Prayers have been answered hearing damage wasn't as bad as reported on the media. And most importantly,a miracle that the injury and death count is so low. Up in the northern part of the states we think shoveling snow is work, the sand shoveling you have is tremendious. But people's great spirits turn a tough situaion into one of adventure. Bless you all in PDC. Steve thank you for your updates, we look forward to your coconut shrimp for the holidaze.

Thanks so much Steve for the Pics. After seeing all the structures still standing I can't help but think, I hope the people that are rebuilding New Orleans will go to playa for a construction lesson. Concrete, concrete, concrete!!
Thanks again Steve.
