Plane rerouted to Merida. How to get to Playa??
My travel agency have informed me that the plane company (Martinair from Amsterdam) are flying to Merida instead of Cancun. Furthermore they will not arrange any way for us to get to Cancun. Lovely company they are.
  Can anyone clue us in as to how we can get to Playa in the least painful way?

Doggie Mom is right about the regular scheduled bus. I looked into a side trip to Merida from Playa last year and they had a bus going and coming (I think 2 a day). The only question will be the schedule because of the upheaval.

You can catch a bus at either the terminal in Merida or from the Fiesta Americana hotel. In any event, try to spend a day or two there. It is a wonderful city, and to miss it, would be a shame, especially if fate takes you there.
