Day trip to Amsterdam / Pre-Peep meeting
I will open a different thread for this one and because I haven't even looked at the pics yet, I will start with telling you a short episode as a teaser which will show you a little bit the spirit of Amsterdam....
![]() In the morning I walked around the city to take pics and only later one Teezet called me and we meet. When he called I was near some museums and suddenly I saw the sign 'Restrooms'. Could use one so I went inside. Paid 50 cents and went in. Then I stopped on my toes as through glass doors I saw two women sitting there doing their stuff. So I thought 'Heck, I don't want a glass door...' I spotted a door with milky glass and decided to wait outside as obviously there was someone inside. And while I was waiting suddenly I saw that little sign on each door 'When locking the door the transparency in the door will disappear!'

We have to pay for the shopping carts at the grocery stores here. It does ensure (mostly) that people return them (then you get your quarter or loonie back).
I think pay toilets is a good idea. Stops the homeless and druggies from using them to do drugs or take a bath in the sink |

![]() I don't really care about paying for the restrooms. If that keeps them clean I am more than willing to contribute... (and you don't ALWAYS have to pay, happens mostly in public places - in restaurants and bars you usually don't have to). |

My dish: Tostada with Chile Colorado, Rice, Frijoles Refritos with a finish of some lettuce, tomato and an orange (that last item I skipped, yuck!) The margarita and Pacifico were nice, too... ![]()

...I live in a microscopic little country if you ask some people from far away can you point the Netherlands on a globe map...Yes, you can find Europe but from that point on they have to use a microscoop to find us Belgium is even a little smaller...Now that you mentioned the whole little thing... you pointed me on a fact that, (serious) I think therefore like it the little a littleBut if you ask where or what is Amsterdam ...we must say "Gezelig hé, zeker weten*" *translation: Gezellig, it shore is* Last edited by shiantry; 11-07-2005 at 01:23 PM.. |

Okay, here we go, here are some pics. Of course I have much more and will post them sooner or later on my website but not sure when this will be as November and December are always busy months with a lot of birthdays.... most of the pics are just impressions so you can catch a little bit the spirit of that city (which a lot of Europeans do like a lot):
