Local Christmas events in Playa
I know that there are a lot of people that come down to Playa for the Holidays.
My question is whether there are any special local celebrations/rituals to see or take part in (A local culture type of thing) ...other than the typical drinking, eating and cavorting. Thanks |

I am not sure if our experience can be classified as a Christmas event but it certainly was interesting. The primary school on Juraz held its Christmas pageant in the courtyard the last day of school before the break. We stopped to watch and before we knew it we were invited by in the teachers, for a better view. The children from the various classes had dressed up as snowmen, raindeer and elves. It was sooooo cute. Stayed for the event. Reminded us of home only in a different language.

There are often things going on in the zocalo that is on about 15th and 12th...kitty-corner to Tacos Israel. There is a little sunken bandstand where they have little presentations going on, like dancing, etc. We passed by a few nights to see things happening.
