I'm loving this forum and appreciate all the great info! Can someone please tell me what happens in Playa during the Carnival(pre-lent/Fat Tuesday) week February 22-28th?

Last year there were parades down 10th Avenue that went right by our hotel almost every night in the early evening. I heard they culminated at the Fair Grounds where there were all sorts of goings-on. Not sure what the exact plans are for this coming Carnival.

I'm going to assume north, as that's the way the parade always headed.

BTW.... we're coming into Playa on 2/25, so keep your eyes open for a Peep Meet somewhere that evening. There are a few other people who are leaving on the 26th, so we'll definitey be meeting up somewhere that night. Hope you can join us for one last evening and a toast to beautiful Playa!!

The stadium where the judging was done and where the “on stage” activities are held is actually on the west side of 307 (or at least it was this year). Someone (perhaps me but not necessarily me) will publish more info closer to the time.

I believe Michael is referring to the Poliforum in the Ejido.

I have been 11 times but not during the carnival and this year I will be there during the peep fest and I am pumped for this so tell me where does the parades start and what route , if it is the same, do they go ?

Oh, I hope so, Nuanda! And.... no need to "buy one for the folks". Just having the chance to meet more peeps from Playa.Info is reward enough!

David and I had a Peep Meet set up for the end of our vacation last May, and it was nice to look forward to it all week long.

Nerak, Ok if that is the protocol I will follow it. I think Saturday night February 25th 2006 will be an exceptional experience. Meeting such a diverse group of people in such a terrific locale is a testimony to the benefits of technology. The countdown is on!
