Hello we are new here!!
My father and I are interested in moving to Playa within the next year or so....I currently live with my girl friend in Merideth, New Hampshire on the lovely Lake Winnipesaukee and he lives on the other side of the lake in Sanbornville.....He owns a fairly successfull flower/gardening business, but since the recent health problems of my grandfather, who co-owned and helped my father run the business....my father decided to take a turn south waaaaayyyy south, actually he's been planning this for years. ( not for my grandfather to get sick, haha but to start a new life in year round warmth ) We were going to be down there in a week or two to visit , but since your recent tragedy we are gointo hold off untill mid March or so.......
So our plan, to sell the businees for roughly 500 - 600,000 dollars...and move to Playa. Buy Duplex condo unit live in one, rent the other...and after we got developed maybe purchase a small restaurant or something of that nature.... ( it has always been my dads dream to his own restaurant and name it the Hot House Cafe' )....so what do u think of our plans??? we are looking forward to talking and maybe metting some of you...thanx alot Bob and Johnny |

Sounds like a great plan. You are already doing the one thing I would definately suggest, taking a visit first to get yourself acquainted. I think you have the mindset right, to purchase the place first and then look into a business.
There's alot more logitics to everything that others are better equipped to answer than myself, (visas, etc.) but I think you have a great plan. Good luck! |

Great plan, many of us have the same dream.
One thing is for sure, regardless of your destination, you have to go there for an extended period of time. I would say go and stay there for 6 weeks. This will give you the clarity of thought to make up your mind. So many factors come into play and many are only seen after an extended period. Culture, noise, allergies, food, heat, red tape....etc. |

Welcome to the forum
I'm sure you'll be able to get lots of information from this site and some of the peeps. Many peeps live in Playa, recently moved to Playa, own property in the area, or dream of all of the above! Good luck to you and I hope the dream comes true for you!
