Bloody is like 'damn' or f*ing!

It's a very colourful English expression and is used with warmth/friendship as much as it can be used in frustration or anger. It's not an X-rated swear word but is not for polite/formal occasions either. Perfect amongst friends.

Legend has it that in olden days richer folk were known as 'bloods' because of their high class status. Similar to pedigree pure bloods. Blue blood is another expression.

Anyway, this description also became a curse against them, hence bloody!

Still bloody awake...?

Oh, and is this one of those breakfast & lunch only places, or are they open in the evening?

Huh? Chips with fries???? Spam with spam.

Fries are those skinny things that McAwful like to cook in 3 seconds.

Chips are large fat slices of potato that when you bite into them actually have, well potato inside.

I haven't tried it yet, but a very drunk Keith assured me they were proper British chips and not their slimmer cousins.

I believe in the States you call crisps, chips too.

Our potato chips are what you call crisps. I guess maybe steak fries or cottage fries would be closer to your chips? I lived in Scotland for 2 years and I would think I ate some fish-n-chips, but I was only 4 and 5 at the time and things are kinda hazy, so I can't remember what they looked like....

Steak chips in the UK are even bigger than normal chips but you don't get them in the 'chippie'.

Scottish Chippie cuisine has dropped to new heights with the introduction of deep fried pizza and deep fried mars bars.

Curiously heart disease is also on the increase.

My favourite is sausage and chips dowsed in vinegar with curry sauce, open wrapped, after a few pints of beer.

I guess I should say 'was' now, not 'is'.

I've been hoarding some malt vinegar brought from the States and am willing to bring it along to a meal at Bloody Chicas if anyone's interested (Or F**king Tyra's, when it opens).

LMAO! I see she's taken lessons from Keith... next time you see Tyra ask her about the first time she had a dinner that Keith cooked... he nearly brought her to tears.

Heather, You should save the malt vinegar and trade it with Keith after he receives his shipment of "Wood's Navy Rum" from England - unless it is the same thing! (BTW, I have finally figured out how to add an "Avatar" to my name, but it keeps telling me that "it's too big" - no matter how small I shrink it. Do I have to accumulate more "posts" before I'm allowed one?) Say "Hello" to Mike for me. And watch how you use those fangs!
