They also had three bowls of different homemade salsas on the table. My favorite was made from tomatillos, garlic, and chiles de arbol. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Of course, we had soft drinks and tortillas. Michael's comida corrida was 40 pesos (includes soup, fresh fruit water, and the entree/tortillas) and mine was, uh, I think 50 pesos with the extra bowl of soup.

You cannot go wrong here.
You have to take me there when I come down, I've never been.

Bloodie Chicas is now "Carmelas" and was just reopen by Carmen (wave runner Carmen), With an all new menu with both American and a few mexican dishes. This is our dear Carmen independent venture, since her breakup with Steve. I have not tried yet, but everything looks neat.

They serve homecooked, yummy food, with daily menu items for comida corrida and some everyday items like fried "Kentucky-style" chicken, fish 'n' chips, and occasionally chicken curry. My bf particularly loves their torta Cubana, which is a huge sandwich with everything you can think of on it, beans, avocado, egg, ham, onion, mayo, etc. It's strangely delicious.

I had heard that Cpt. Dave's/La Fortuna Bar on 10th ave was closed down last year. Are they still open there?

Just reread the date on this original quote..............it's old and I don't think that their restuarant is open any more and that Cpt. Dave's/La Fortuna Bar on 10th ave IS CLOSED..........CORRECT?????

Correct. The cast of characters can now generally be found at Pinche Gringos on Ave. 1 and calle 26 in the Royal Oasis building.

That may be because she has really just started hiring staff and the works.

Okay, maybe someone can tell me what is up with Mayte and Alex now. Hope things are good with them since their accident. We are staying at Mom's the entire month of Feb 09 and would like to see them again. We loved their place across from Mom's when they were there!
