Across from the church in Colosio is a little joint with takeout pollo asado that is out of this world. 45 pesos gets you a whole bird, rice, beans, spaghetti and slaw (small portions of each).

pollo asado

Hi Guys:

We are arriving in Playa in two weeks, and wondered if anyone had an update on any place to get really good pollo asado, to go? We are looking for a quick take out or delivery for a small group on our first night in town. Any suggestions would be much appreciated Cant wait

Do as James says (the man knows his chicken ):

"2nd at 20th (Asadero el Pollo Estilo Sinaloa) remains my favorite pollo. It's more expensive, and worth it."

Btw, all pollo asado places in town do take out.

You might plan on having lunch there. If I am not mistaken, many of the pollo restaurants close before 6 pm. The times I have planned on having pollo for dinner, I have ended up going elsewhere because some of the establishments were closed. Happy eating!!!

What time are the chickens done!?

The whole chickens people rave about...what time are they usually done in the afternoon to snatch one up? I heard the locals knew what time to get there of course, but I want a chicken too!

Busy, busy, busy. 70 pesos for a whole chicken with tortillas, rice, onions and salsas. For 37 pesos you get half a bird. For 30 pesos you get 1/4 but you gain a soda.

According to the sign: open daily 10:00 to 18:00
