Love those Vets
Just bumping this one up !!!
No matter how you feel about the war or Iraq...be sure to honor all Vets this weekend. Fly the Flag and let them know you care. This is an awesome web site created by a local hometown Louisiana girl about her service time in Iraq. Check out the pictures and stories. (great music too) http://www.armychic256bde.com/index.html |

Thanks to my dad, my father-in-law, uncles and granfather, all who served proudly.
A special prayer for my young nephew who is proudly serving in the Navy, on a ship, stationed somewhere "over there" right now. Godspeed, Sean! |

Thank you and God Bless you Veterans! Thank you for your service to our country. You are in our hearts, you are in our prayers.A special thank you to my father-in-law, Donald Simandl for his corageous and valiant service to our country in WWII. He stormed the beach at Normandy and experienced 'the hell all around' and lives today with the memories. God Bless you Dad!!! I love you! Your grandson is more proud of you than you'll ever know. |

Thank you to all vets and men/women currently involved in armed struggle..peacekeeping or otherwise.
I remember my father-in-law, four years passed now. He fought as a Merchant Marine in WWII and a Paratrooper in Korea. He had his ship sunk from underneath him twice, saw many friends lose their lives, and was decorated. He was just as honorable a person as he was a soldier..never lied, cheated, or stole a time in his life. He ranked honour and honesty as THE most important in human qualities, and I admired him very much. He became a father to me as well, and was the only older-adult I ever heard tell me, "I'm proud of you." He was/is very dear to my heart, and we miss him terribly. I have posted this photo before, but I'll post it again. After he passed away I took the tarnished and dirty medals that he had kept in the back of a drawer (he didn't want to display them as they brought bad memories for him) and had had them re-dipped in silver, re-ribboned, and framed with his service photo and honorable discharge papers as a surprise for John. ![]() |
