The other 'fishy' thing is that you, and others have gone by and said the looked operational. When I called Fishermen's directly, I was told they were opening on Saturday a few weeks ago(can find exact date if you want) yet reservations says they will not be open until April. They did move my reservation from this Thanksgiving to Thanksgiving 2006 so I have taken this little bump with a spoonful of sugar and a fist full of money and going on with my vacation. Yes, they were hit very hard. I understand that by seeing the pics. But why do some get to go and not others? I like the location of FV and have always enjoyed my trips down there. Wish we would have realized how much we were going to have liked the area and bought a villa instead. GOt one for sell MH??? |

James - thanks for the pics and the info. Everyone else, I am not trying to be a downer but it does make you wonder. Only positive stuff from me publicly from here on out. Any other questions that may have a negative answer I will pm. I've stressed enough over FV. Still coming to PdC, gonna do Fat Cat on Tuesday (woohoo!) and gonna have a blast! Viva la vacation! |

I am still not be suspicious in the slightest (and Fisherman's management is not popular with their neighbors, like me). Everything looks on the up and up to me. The owners are in, as they should be. And the rental guests and time share “owners” are being kept away while the work gets done. James pictures show a LOT of progress since my visit. If they can get the new pool built just as fast as the initial work has been completed (the old one was still there when I visited, but was being removed) they could finish ahead of schedule. |

Because of my experience staying there,I can see why Fisherman's management would not be popular with the neighbors. The playacar phase one neighborhood is very beautiful and residential, Fisherman's village seems out of place.Could michaelholmes or someone else give us a brief history of how playacar phase one came to be? |

It took 7 days but I finally recieved a response from FV about our alternate dates, Apr 29-May 6. Of course that week is not available, but they did offer us the week of May 6-13th. I don't like going that late, because it is just starting to get nice here in Michigan, but I told them we'd take that week. I didn't want to lose our 2005 week and the maintenance fee. We'll see how long it will take them to respond.
Wish we could go now, we just got snow dumped on us and it's cold out. |

I know that we don't actually lose the week, but we can't go during the summer. Even the second week of May is pushing it. We start getting busy by the end of May.
Next fall is out, still busy and the 2006 Hurricane season will be in progress. Don't want to take a chance w/that one. That just about leaves Dec and if we couldnt use it then we'd have to on 07 and another maintenance fee. Our budget didnt plan on that extra expense, so we'd probably not end up using the week. I guess rather than saying we'd lose it, I mean we'd have to forfeit it. |

Just got an email confirmation for the Week of May 6-13th. So I guess we'll be seeing PDC then (unless Mother Nature decided to throw something else at her).
If anyone else hasn't heard from them yet or hasnt decided about rebooking, I'd suggest doing it right away. You might have a better chance of getting in when you want as a second option (I know most of us prefered what we had). I'm looking forward to Silver Streaks report when she gets back. |

We always like to travel in early December, before high season really kicks in, and it's not too crowded (plus it's our anniversary). So we never have a problem with booking for then. Maybe we ought to book now for next year though! |

nah. we aren't concerned here.
after having such relatively little damage after having a very strong hurricane hit for a couple days, a tropical depression's glancing blow is hard to worry about. |
