My boyfriend and I are planning on staying in Playa for a few days before the family arrives at FV - which is when we will join them. So, seeing as how I've already made reservations else where I just might have to find somewhere else to stay. Which I don't want to, I enjoyed the location and friendly staff - and I owe Louis a T-shirt!

I find it hard to understand why FV is not contacting people about thier reservations! If what they have told others is correct, that they have a contract w/them to provide certain things, then they should be legally required to contact any timeshare owner who has a reservation before Apr 1 and remake the reservation. I consider that a poor business practice.

Is there anyone out there who was not contacted by FV, then shown up w/their original dates/reservations? If so what happened when you arrived??

I would like to know this information too - if it weren't for this website and some others, I would have expected that there will be no problem with our reservation....any more information from others would be a great help.

Just found out that my mom contacted them this past week and their reply is that we are to fill out a form indicating that we accept the fact that there will be construction and no pool, some spa services, use of the main restaurant and Lobby bar....so basically, we can go for our time as long as we agree to the above terms. I guess if anyone else has reservations they should ask about this if they still want to go.

I don't see any pictures when I click on your trip report link. Thank you.

I was just wondering if things look any better there at Fishermen's...we are supposed to have 2 weeks this year & I'm thinking it may be better to just go back to the RIU

The pool is not yet repaired. When did they tell you it would be finished?

They have not communicated with the owners in any way, I wrote them & asked for a status update, but I just got a reply saying units would be available in May....

We are wondering if we should go elsewhere, but we had banked a week from last year already because of the July hurricane zz7 then Wilma visited. So we have 2 weeks plus a bonus week, no way will we use all of them in 2006, may have to rent one or 2 weeks out.

We were there for no more than fifteen minutes and never spoke with anyone. (They were too busy anyway giving their timeshare presentations )
We have a few weeks available to us this year as well. We've carried weeks over from years past when my parents were too ill to travel and we hadn't had the time to travel down there yet.

Michael--pics?

Michael, you said you could take more pics of Fisherman's. Have you done that? I'd love to see the beach and pool area now.
