yeah, but that thread is closed and veered way off target.

it would be good to snap some pictures of Fisherman's.

I'm off on a bike ride.

I was there last week and the back area where the pool and bar are was very damaged. As with everywhere, they were working hard on it. My damn camera battery died though, so I didn't get any pictures.

As mentioned in another thread. The two new wings that were built out into the sea are damaged at the ground floor level. These wings were built under protest from the neighborhood owners as they are in violation of current Playacar building code (they were grandfathered in using an old plan from many years ago). The original building is not damaged in any way that I could see and is open (possibly for owners only). The pool is damaged and now screened off from the main building. The pool is being worked on.

We were told we couldn't reschedule our December timeshare there til April. We didn't want to wait, and booked a condo up the road at Xaman Ha....

We have been advised that our Mar res are canceled. We were told to choose new dates after Apr 1. I sent them new dates last week and havent heard a thing since.
There are some pics posted on thier website of damage and progress.
Here is the site http://royalsunset.com/
When you get there, click on the spot that says Sunset members, on the
next page go to the Photo gallery. Pics of Fishermens are on page 2.

I wasnt given this option, but since I don't care for Cancun I'd probably decline. The Cancun location is a required AI too, which I dont care for.
If they can't find room for me on the other dates I have available, I'm hoping
they will let us use their Interclub service to go some place else. I'd like to see other parts of Mexico.
Has anyone used this option or asked if they can use it for the current canceled trips??

We too had our November 2005 and March 25-April 1 reservations canceled. I plan on stopping by next week when I am in PdC. I will post information based on what I see and what they tell me in person. I hope to speak with Jose Luis, he is the owner liaison representative. Can't remember the official title.

From what I have gethered by speaking with other FV peeps, the timeshare owners are the ones being canceled. Condo owners have access. The odd thing is that we bought in the new buildings but have never been assigned a room in one of the new buildings when we have used our timeshare. I offered to sign a waiver stating that I knew the pool and facilities would not be 100% if I could stay in March but they said no.

My husband has his suspicions of what is going on but I am trying to stay positive. I'm not gonna let that get in the way of a wonderful vacation in a place I love - PdC here I come!

One thing I didn't like was that I didn't hear anything from them about my March res until I finally emailed them myself.
I would think that a email or letter to anyone with confirmed reservations would have been in order. Did anyone hear first from them or did
you have to ctc them first?

I went to Fishermen Sunset the other day and posted an update on my Wilma blog.

Fishermen is one of the hardest hit places in town, in my opinion.

Thanks for taking those pics, James.

pcarlson, I emailed them a week or so ago about our upcoming trip, then called them a day or so later when I hadn't gotten a response. Looking at the pictures I've seen it's no wonder the timeshares won't be available for a few months.
They asked if we wanted to reschedule for sometime after April 1st but we're not doing that yet. One trip at a time and we're still anxious to get to Playa soon. So we booked another condo, up the street at Xaman Ha.
