This is sound advice! Always book your air through the airline when just needing tickets. Never book through a 3rd party!!!!!
And American isn't going anywhere, just like Delta, US Air, Continental, United didn't go anywhere. All of those airlines declared CH 11 after 9/11, American was the only one that didn't. Now it's their turn to reorganized and become a stronger, more sound airline.
P.S. My flight times on Continental changed for my flight on Friday, I noticed it one day when logging in to check on another reservation I have. You have to check your reservations, no matter what airline you book with. I just don't think the airline expects that people will book a ticket online and then never come back online to check it, do the online check in, play with seating assignments. I guess some people do and get caught not knowing there's been a sked change, but shame, you just can't. Also set up flight alerts to be sent to your cell.
