Update on Mom.
Your prayers are working. Latest update mom has been responding more and more each day. Today she kind of pushed the nurse away far waking her up and is trying to what appears to talk. But with a trake in that's not possible. She does follow you with her eyes and can nod her head to yes and no questions. She still has an open wound in her abdomen, which will remain open for a day or two longer to make sure all the infection has healed. I is amazing that when I first saw her the prognosis was very grim at best. Her vital signs are and have been for a while normal, brain activity is normal, pressure on the brain has been normal since day two. It is looking more promising that we may not be looking as strongly toward diminished mental capabilities. (Won't know for sure until the trake come out and she can talk and respond better). You Playa Nuts have no idea how much your thoughts and prayers have meant to our family and friends. I'm proud to run with a crowd like all y'alls/you guys. Have a very good Thanksgiving to all my Gringo buddies and I hope my Canook friends had a good one last month.
If anyone knows how to upload a picture I will be glad to upload one of mom in Playa. Last edited by krazy4playa; 11-23-2005 at 04:48 PM.. |

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am a nurse at North Memorial, on the trauma/neurology unit, and unfortunately see this story everyday. Stay strong and know that there are people everywhere around you that care and are there to support you. Please keep us updated.

Well- I'm a tad bit late on this one it seems.....
It is good to hear that your Mom is recovering!! And even though I'm a bit late I'm sending over positive thoughts and hope to the other side of the puddle. I hope she'll recover completely quick. |

Update on Mom.
Well I added these pictures to my original thread but I know a lot of you are just coming in for updates and may have missed it. Here is a picture of mom in Playa and one of her 4 krazy boyz.
![]() ![]() As of this morning she now recognises people and knows she is in hospital. She does not remember the accident (fine by me at least for now). Doctors say they don't expect huge mental deficencies but some can't be ruled out just yet. Thankgiving this year....well let's just say I had a lot to thankful for not just mamma but all of you. In the picture is top left Rich 37, me Kecee 40, lower left Shawn 26 and then the baby Trevor 19. Mom always wanted a girl but to no avail. Her sister had a boy and her brother had 2 boys and a girl (which is her favorite for obvious reasons). Even Rich had 2 boys. Just not in the cards mom. haha But she is soo proud of her boys we can't wait to lift her in her chase lounge on the beach and put her on our shoulders and run down the sand while she sips her infamous daqueri being while being treated like the princess that she is. We tend to spoil her. More later.

Kecee, your mom is so lucky to have you - and your brothers too! What a good son you are.
I must have also missed opening this thread for some unknown reason, and I apologize for not sending my thoughts before now. I'm so sorry to hear about the accident, but it looks like mom is getting a little better every day. With more positive energy and prayers, I bet she makes a full and speedy recovery! |
