Hong Kong on the highway

I went the new Chinese place on the highway last night. It's just passed Sams on the right. It was very clean and the food was very good. A combination plate (choice plus drink, egg roll, tons of rice) is about 65 pesos and enough for two people. You can eat inside, outside (big porch-like area), or get it to go. They have a drive thru also. This picture is pretty bad, but here they are anyway. I was happy to have Chinese again!

Thanks for posting this pic Sarah. I was in PDC just before Wilma hit (we were fortunate to get evacuated on the 20th) and I wondered how all the construction projects along the highway fared. I remember this restaurant in particular because I love Chinese food and I thought it was cool a Chinese restaurant was opening up.

Hong Kong has branches in Merida and Cancun. Their buffet is all-world. When my wife saw that they were opening, she made me promise to take her. Now that I know that it is open, I will have to honor that promise, as painful as it may be.

If it is that painful - maybe use less hot mustard. It won't be as painful.

If you go for sushi - make sure to use lots of wasabi. Now that will be painful.

Oh, better be clear here...they don't have sushi! I guess it's asked a lot b/c there is a sign on their drive thru box saying so.

Buffet? I didn't see a buffet, Mark.

The Hong Kongs in Merida and Cancun offer a buffet in the afternoons. Usually, there are some sushi rolls included, although they are not too good.

The pollo agridulce is a must.

We had a take away the other day. Delivery chap was on time, polite and the food was hot.

Ok it's not at China Town level, but it was the best Chinese we've had in Playa by far. The spring rolls were crispy and light with good fillings. We enjoyed it and will try them again.

Wow! Do you have the number for delivery? What was the additional cost or minimum order for delivery? Thanks, MB!

Open 12 noon to 10pm.

An enormous 5 peso charge is added for home delivery.

No mention of minimum order.

I'm thinking you're being sarcastic! I can't wait to eat my through Playa. Now can anyone tell me how I can do this and not gain 25 pounds in a week.

OK, I think I have a plan based upon the options you have offered. I choose #2. Swimming which have the same effect as #3 Bulimia because after the eating too much, drinking too many margaritas, swimming will make me chuck. I may just drop a few pounds prior to arriving as we all know the last thing Playa needs is another pasty tourists with a few too many extra pounds wandering along the beach. I may get rolled in the ocean by a member of greenpeace!
