Hmmm....
Maybe a moderator could combine THIS thread and the Smoke thread?

I do Zicam nowadays...used to do Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold before they took it off the shelves, changed the active ingredient (whatever it WAS) and made it as effective as everything else for me...zip.

Really the only thing I can do is find something to knock down the symptoms until it runs its course...

Zicam didn't do anything for me last winter, and those melt-away tabs felt weird on my tongue! I take Airborn the minute I feel a scratchy throat or stuffy nose and (knock on wood) it has chased everything away before it got full-blown. My husband has been coughing for the past two weeks...you think he'd take some Airborn? Nope...he swears he's not sick!

Personally if I feel someting comming on I go to my gym and sit in the sauna a hour or so and sweat it out. The when someone comes into the sauna they get it and pass it on to someone else. However I rarely ever get anything like a cold or flu. That is just so blase.

I drinks cups of Tussin Tea by Traditional Medicinals. It works great for coughs, stufffy nose and sore throat. The trick is to let it steep for at least 10 minutes and drink it hot.

Nothing over the counter works.....

The only thing that does work is that special cough syrup that you have to beg your doctor to write a prescript for (and all it does is make you sleep and make your eyes feel all tingly and have strange fever dreams) ..but I still like it !!! :p

I have found that drinking hot lemon tea with honey helps make you feel better for about five minutes.........what are some other good cures to make you feel better when you are waaaayyyyy under the weather ???
Guifenison (sorry about the spelling) for day time, with lots of water to loosen the chest, you will find it in the robotussins...A doc I work with swears by severe cold and chest(or is it chest and cold) capsules by robitussin. Walgreens have their off brand. I always buy three or 4 packs as you go thru it in no time. Dont take at night you will probably be awake. Gingerale would be great too....fluids fluids fluids..hope you feel better soon.

We have not been testing for influenza in our clinic yet, but one of our nurses says about an hour north or so, their clinic had 3 positives already. It's here

Aloe juice is pretty good for what ails you. Especially stomach ailments. Hangovers too. And burns, poison ivy......pretty much anything, I swear.

I agree

Zicam tabs taste like sh*t but they have held off my last 3 brushes with colds.Working with people with pnumonia and colds all last week,I'm getting it,but fighting with Zicam, vitamin c,and sheer will power. A little wine too,LOL
Good luck Tappy, hope you feel better soon.
