i just asked, because i think it's better to get known to peole when you travel alone. last time i was in playa, i just got known to the people of the dive shop and no other people. that was a bit lonesome for me. are there any new backpacker hostels? eva |

Last year our son stayed at the Urban Hostel on 10th...not recommended...dirty and buggy. However, just today we walked by the hostel on 8th St. near 20th or 25th Ave. (not sure exactly where we were) and it looked very nice. I have heard itīs usually the recommended one. It looked good to me! Sorry, I didnīt check prices.

A friend was staying at the one on 10th and it seemed fairly solid to me. Very strict on no guests and you have to share your room. Depends on your budget I guess but for 150 pesos more a night you can find a cheap hotel with your own room. If you didn't meet enough people last time maybe you need to spend more time at the Parrot or something, you can't help but meet people there I find.
