Uh Oh!!

Holy Cow! I have been watching my countdown ticker for about 2 months and I just saw this am that it said 3 days. Not that I hadn't noticed it get to 6,5,4.. But 3, now I better get my @#$% together. Hitting the store in the next few days, if anybody is craving anything down there, just let me know. I have a teeny bit of luggage space. My 13 year old daughter forced me to start packing last night (called me a procrastinator).Had to try on a few summer clothes and she critiqued me the whole time..."boobs not big enough... belly sticks out...too old for that, makes you look sleezy (goody)
Leaving at 3am for Cleveland airport Friday night (snow storm expected, of course). Playa transport all set up for Saturday to Tulum, Posada Freud overnight arranged for Dec. 6th peep meet, still haven't received my mapchicks maps. Stressed about that! (Mine were stolen from my room the last time I was there. ), spanish phrase book, snorkel gear, cash.... uh oh,, need cigs...better get back to work, tan, bank, store....See ya all soon!
Hey, what does Ron have to do? Oh, ya, AA batteries!

See you down there cici - your packing style reminds me of my wife's: last minute all the way. I've been packed since Sunday, and have a checklist for everything else. 1 day, 20 hours, 26 minutes until the flight leaves. I also checked the Weather Channel's forecast for Tulum - looks outstanding with mid-80s & sun. Beats the low 40s, gray skies and cold rain any time.

I can almost taste las cervesas y las margaritas.

I never pack until the morning I leave. I love to forget things so I have an excuse to go to the store and buy everything.

I'm like a crazy person here as well. Have not even retrieved the suitcase from the attic, let alone start packing it. I did try a few things on last night, but in my case it went like this: boobs too big for this shirt and that shirt, belly sticks out of those shorts AND those pants, where'd my ass go?, that top is see through, that bottom is see through, too dressy, too frumpy, wore that last month...so I'm bringing it all! :p But it won't be in the suitcase until the night before I leave. Never pack until the night before because I'm always changing my mind on what to bring!

Have to try and finish up some work stuff, then tell my web guru to pull it all down and put up an auto away message (he's starting to hate me - better send him another check!), call in for new prescription, figure out where I stashed the suntan lotion, arrange shuttle ride back from Newark Airport cause hubby doesn't want to pick me up (I think he's mad he's not comin!), get to basketball practice the next couplea nights, ignore the fact that I'm having my b-day here cause I want to celebrate it THERE, get a haircut, nails done, pick up some stuff for James and figure out where it'll fit in the aforementioned luggage....ouch - I have a headache just thinking about everything!

End result of all this stress - vacation!

The day we win the lottery is the day we throw out the crap we'd normally pack and go buy better stuff!

Phone rings.

Wife answers.

Husband says, "Pack a bag, I just won the lottery."

Wife says, "Pack a bag? Where for?"

Husband says, "I couldn't care less...just don't be there when I get home."

Yep, the guys have it easy. Brian's usually snoozing early the night before a trip and I'm usually up til 1. I have my list going and a few things pulled out, snorkel gear, camera (important stuff ) but have been putting off the clothes-trying-on...maybe tonight.

I too am last minute the day before packer. I do start putting thing out on the dining table a week out that I don't want to forget. Half the time we get to Tropical Casa Blanca the office is closed so we get our key from the guard. Reyna the owner always laugh when we leave and come down the stairs with 7 or 8 bags huge bags. I just don't know what I'll be in the mood for so I bring it all and never wear half the shit. Reyna says the Queen of England doesn't travel with as much. Maybe she's right but look how she looks.
