Playa Del Carmen

Hi, we just went to Playa Del Carmen about 2 weeks ago for a couple of days, just wanted to check things out after Wilma...... and for anyone who's thinking about going......should definitely still go. I know alot of people are worried about the damage but really it wasn't bad at all. Fifth ave. was completely back to normal. Most of the places we walked to were in really good shape. There are alot of trees down on the side of the roads in Playacar, and all the trees have no foliage on them. But they were just starting to bud when we were there.

I've never seen so many construction workers at one given time......they are really working hard to get the resorts and other buildings back to normal.

The beach in Playa Del Carmen and Playacar were awesome.....other than it was a bit of a ghost town. But hey, the beers were icy cold, and the weather was fantastic.

The Senior frogs is destroyed....... nothing but a gutted, falling down frame.
Anyway, we had a great time as usual (this was our 4th time) just wanted to let anyone know that it is still really worth going.

We do have some pics if anyone is interested.

But Carlos and Charlies is open and they're all the same, right?! Jenn chose there to meet last week and it was my first time in there ever! I don't know when I'll ever go back, but it is kinda cool sitting outside upstairs and they bring some sort of crab dip and chips which is different than the normal salsa and chips.

Glad you enjoyed your visit, Dingodi!

Yes, I'm not sure how we missed that.....we were talking to a guy from Cozumel who was flying to Canada.....and he asked us if we went. I guess because we were only there for literally 1 day and 2 nights.....we just went back to our favorite spots. But we are planning on going again in Feb.....I'm sure we'll check it out then.

I would love to see the pictures of Playa. We are planning on coming back down in May and have been wondering what it really looks like now.

beer bucket was closed while i was there. tons of construction going on. sand on the beach still needs moving around a little. mamitas beach was still packed with people even though the chairs were not out. water was still wonderful. a lite sunburn saturday. just getting me ready for the next trip down for the holidays.

The beer bucket has been open for my last two post Wilma visits (both in November and December) for anyone planning a visit. Don't worry the beer bucket has been open since at least November 1st. I'm not sure what Dave is trying to tell us.
