Playa Del Carmen
Hi, we just went to Playa Del Carmen about 2 weeks ago for a couple of days, just wanted to check things out after Wilma...... and for anyone who's thinking about going......should definitely still go. I know alot of people are worried about the damage but really it wasn't bad at all. Fifth ave. was completely back to normal. Most of the places we walked to were in really good shape. There are alot of trees down on the side of the roads in Playacar, and all the trees have no foliage on them. But they were just starting to bud when we were there.
I've never seen so many construction workers at one given time......they are really working hard to get the resorts and other buildings back to normal. The beach in Playa Del Carmen and Playacar were awesome.....other than it was a bit of a ghost town. But hey, the beers were icy cold, and the weather was fantastic. The Senior frogs is destroyed....... nothing but a gutted, falling down frame. Anyway, we had a great time as usual (this was our 4th time) just wanted to let anyone know that it is still really worth going. We do have some pics if anyone is interested. |

The beer bucket has been open for my last two post Wilma visits (both in November and December) for anyone planning a visit. Don't worry the beer bucket has been open since at least November 1st. I'm not sure what Dave is trying to tell us. |
