I'm looking for new info on the Copacabana Pictures, trip reports, resort maps etc... It sounds like must repairs are complete but I haven't seen any new photos since early Dec. I have reservations for June 10th and I'm taking my parents age 71 and 69 so I hope the pathways are repaired and that most of the resort is open.

Sarah,
I'm also looking into the Copacabana for this summer. Did you like it? Is the beach far from the rooms? How was the food, if you ate there?

thanks,
Nancy

I didn't stay there, so I'm not sure about the rooms. I've never stayed at an AI (my friend works there, so that's how I went), so I don't know how this compares really. I thought the lunch buffet was just okay, but the dinner buffet was really good. I think this AI is smaller than many others which I thought was nice. Plus it is on one of the most beautiful beaches around. Since it's kinda small, everything is pretty close together. Walking from the lobby to the beach is just a couple of minutes (all rooms are between lobby and beach).

Gracias! I like the fact that the beach is beautiful. We spend all day on the beach. As long as the food is decent we'll be happy! One week there and one week in Playa...I think that might be what we'll do.

Thanks for your help!

It has been hard to get alot of info. I think mostly because the resort is small. It sounds like they have a great staff and they really take care of there guests. It sounds to me like the food should be tasty enough to please us and the kids. We really don't need to pig out mostly going to kick back, swim, sun, and fun. It sounds like they have recovered fairly well from Willma and what work is left should be ready for us in June. The beach sounds great at the Copacabana and Akumal is so close we'll go down there for some great snorkeling.

We were at the Copacabana about 5 years ago. We loved everything about it, but the only thing we didn't like was that everytime we went to PDC, we had to take a taxi. We now stay at the Gala and we can walk to PDC or ride bikes. It was a beautiful resort and the beach was great. You will have good time there.
