Christmas Tree Vs Holiday Tree

I'm sure you guys have heard about this....Some people are now calling a Christmas Tree which is what I call it and will till they plant me in the ground a Holiday Tree.....OK are we supposed to call a Manora a Holiday Candle holder...Is there anyone else out there who is offended by this....I mean I understand when saying Happy Holidays but a Holiday tree as not to offend someone who is not a Christian.....

What other people want to call their "tree" is fine with me but mine will always be a Christmas Tree!

My basic thought is they, whoever 'they' are, are carrying this PC stuff a little too far. I get tired of it. I don't ever intend to offend anyone of a different race, color, religion whatever. I think the average person doesn't think a thing of it, it's the zealots that get offended at every little thing. They view it as being demeaning or intentionally offensive. I say BULL, or cow or any farm animal you choose, sh*t or caca or poo or what ever you feel is the least offensive.

That issue has come up here recently and I think that it is silly not to call it a Christmas tree. As far as I know, if you are celebrating Christmas then you are putting up a Christmas tree. If you are not going to celebrate Christmas then why put up a tree. And if you for some reason put up a tree but don't want to call a spade a spade, then do that in your home where everyone knows you are a little batty anyway. Don't force everyone else to follow in your footsteps.

Every culture has their own traditions and names for things so why interfere with that? It is just ridiculous.

I do not hesitate to call it a Christmas tree, nor do I hesitate to say Merry Christmas, or Christmas Blessings to you. It is what I believe in and a gift of good tidings to people. If people are offended, then I take it as they do not receive my well wishes and it is there loss, not mine. I don't let it bother me; therefore.
Best Christmas Blessings to all of you peeps, I know it will be well received.

Those PC-obsessed morons should find something better to do with their time.

It's a Christmas Tree.

..... little story for ya..... here at my office building (which the company I work for owns and manages), each year hosts a get-together in the lobby of the building about a week before Christmas. The notices were posted yesterday on the entryway doors. Someone (don't know who) crossed out "Holiday Cheer Party" one of the notices and wrote in "Christmas Cheer Party".

I call my tree Henry! It avoids all the PC crap .................... "Honey, let's go home and water Henry." "Oh ... darnnit! The dog's got one of Henry's balls in his mouth and the cats playing with his tinsel!!"

I sort of celebrate Christmas but not for it's original intent. I do so for tradition's sake just as my girlfriend (a non-practicing Jew) celebrates Hanukkah or Passover for the same reason. I have no issue with the term. Never have. It's a Christmas Tree.

I do know that it can be uncomfortable at times. Last week in Baltimore I went to a Barenaked Ladies concert. Baltimore has a very large Jewish population and I am sure it was very well represented at the concert.
The group performed..maybe a half dozen "Christmas" songs (referencing Jesus) and a few secular "Holiday" songs and one Hanukkah song. Balanced? No. And I think some people were a tad bit uncomfortable...but no one walked out.

Or maybe I was being overly sensitive and no one was really bothered.

I can see it now.....Musicians before they start their set asking how many Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc are in the audience to figure out what songs they would need to sing not to offend anyone or leave anyone out....

Please don't corrupt the Festivus tradition. Festivus is marked with a simple unadorned aluminum pole. Everybody knows that!
