Wish Me Luck....

.....In convincing my husband that going to Playa in Feb with my mom, er without him and baby, for 4 or 5 days would be a nice thing

. He is going snow mobiling the end of January for 3 days and then to the Master's in April for 3 days, er without me and baby.

I have found fairly descent airfare (336 RT) and my mom doesn't care were we stay so I figured we could stay somewhere on 5th (as long as there are still rooms) so I don't think money should be a factor. I had brought this up before to him when my sister and her family wanted to go for April vacation, but he couldn't go. He was not to keen on that idea because he really wants to go back too.

So any good ideas on how to get him to go along with the idea???

Yeah. Rub his nose in the fact that he's going snowmobiling in January WITHOUT YOU and to the Masters in April WITHOUT YOU. Can't see how he could argue against you doing the same.

(And I'm soooo jealous of that air fare!!! We're paying around $570 RT, and they even changed it from nonstop to one-stop both ways!!)

Are you coming during Peep Fest week?????????????? I HOPE SO!!!

I would be the week of Feb 18th as thats when my mom's school vacation is

Well unfortunatly I didn't read the small writing for that one, it was on cheapflights.com, it was an American special, but you have to fly mon thru wed and a saturday night stay needs to be involved.

But I don't care if I have to spend $500 on a ticket, I need to go!

I would also tell him that if he is doing the things that please him alone you could as well do something for yourself.
Plus: sometimes time away to another leads to great....errrrr......reunifications.
As he is a male that might convince him!! :=)

I'll be there with another teacher during that week too. We're flying down on the 20th. And I'm leaving my hubby home with our son, too. He knows if I don't get my mid-winter Playa fix I won't be fit to live with until we go back in August. So, it's either deal with a week without me cooking and cleaning up after them, or put up with a cranky, stressed Mom!!

He KNOWS better!!

We're flying out of Boston too. We paid $555 and we fly through Dallas on AA.I bought the tix on Orbitz.

My neice was in a similar situation. Her husband is going snowmobiling in January and in March. So she basically said if you can do that I can go with my aunt to Mexico. He reallly didn't argue. She's never been there and has been trying to talk him into going but he's not a sit on the beach kinda guy. I even tried talking hime into it with lots of side trips etc but this works out perfectly for everyone. It really is a win win situation. Good luck!

Got some good new folks!!!!!!!

Well this is how it went down. I was talking to my mother (or should I say momma warbucks!) and she offered to pay for the WHOLE trip for both my sister and I and that would be our gifts, ie birthday, christmas, mothers day; for the whole year! Well then I knew I could use that on my hubby. So i sat on the couch talking to my mother and dropping little hints. He kept looking at me like what are you talking about and where are you going...So I get off the phone and say:

"what do you think about me going away for a couple 4 or 5 days in Feb"
him "how much?"
me "free my mom's paying for the whole thing, all I need a spending money"
him "really?"

me "um, yup"
him "well what the heck, I'm going away in January and April, go ahead"

now all I need is a place to stay!
