Sunscape Tulum - just returned, questions?
Had a terrific 4 days at Sunscape Tulum. Please let me know if you have any questions.
We really enjoyed our stay there, and are missing it especially now that we're back in 25 degree F temperatures and some snow on the ground. |

Do you have any pictures you can post? How was the beach and the resort all together? Was the water the pretty clear blue/turqouise water? I'm considering the Sunscape resorts as a choice for our wedding; along with other resorts. Do you know if the resort has any private banquet rooms that they have wedding receptions at?
Thanks for your help. Kristine |

I do have pictures, but they are too large to attach here. I posted 10 of them on my TripAdvisor.com review. Just search on Sunscape Tulum in that site and look for the one from Mount Airy, MD. Alternatively, you could post an email address and I can send you the pictures. I have many of weddings that occurred on the beach since our balcony overlooked where they did the ceremonies and on-the-beach receptions. The water was beautiful to look at, although perhaps not as clear as the mill pond-like, dead-still water areas. The sand was a mixture of sand and crushed coral and the staff was constantly cleaning and grooming it. As far as Banquet/Meeting rooms for a reception, I know they have meeting rooms there but I don't know about whether they use them for receptions. My guess is they do. They also have a small Spanish chapel right there on the property and it is very nice inside. Hope this helps. Mark |

snorkel gear/beach walks
Is it best to pack our own snorkel gear?
I have read that there is better snorkeling at Akumal Bay...is this a public beach and thus would we need to have our own gear? I love long beach walks. Is it possible to walk a few miles either direction on the beach in front of the Dreams Resort? I have only about 50 more questions for you! I just can't wait to leave this cold winter Michigan weather (pretty as it is) behind me for a week! Last edited by darlena : 01-01-2006 at 04:07 PM. Reason: spelling error |

Sunscape/Dreams Tulum provides snorkeling gear for free, although I believe you need to purchase a fresh mouthpiece for $5. We didn't snorkel ourselves - this is the information we were told. If you are going to go somewhere off the resort, you should bring your own gear. The beach does stretch on for a long ways in both directions, but be sure to bring some kind of shoes/sandals to wear since the beach has a lot of debris from the hurricanes once you leave the resort's beach area (which is cleaned and groomed).
