We were there for the first time about 4 years ago. We went early, so it wasn't so busy, but there were people in the bar. I agree it is worth the experience. Went there last year, and it wasn't as crowded. We actually sat in the bar, and we were the only people there. Fine with us. Fast service. It seems that so many people never know if it is open or closed. When we went last time, we read on here about half the people thought it was closed, and half thought it was open. Many of the taxi drivers, at that time, were saying it was closed. I guess it was closed for some remodeling, but it was open when we were there. Food was good, drinks a little spendy. But, you don't get to eat in a cave/cenote very often. We saw a show on the Travel Channel years ago about Alux and it was rated one of the top places to visit.
