Thumbs up Back in business! Woohoo!!!

After being sorta "kicked out" of my previous job after 17 years last August I'm finally back in business by January!!!
Meaning that I have a job again! Woohoo!
Signing the contract this week (maybe even tomorrow) will just be a formality.

I don't know about the job situation in the US, but it ain't easy finding an appropriate job here when you're already 38. Employers (in general) here are looking for the person that has just left highschool and yet already has 10 years experience. (IOW: cheap AND good.) Plus the unemployment rates are pretty high here, too. A nice looking job easily attracts several hundreds of candidates...

But I DID find an appropriate job. Which surprised me since the printing business in general isn't doing good, to say the least.
About the job: I used to be in Prepress, and I will be there again.
The small company (5 including the manager/owner) prints a wide variety of textile items such as t-shirts, windbreakers, sweaters, umbrellas, aprons, bags, etc.
Clients will send their images digitally. Then I jump in and will make a nice proof of what their order is going to look like. And after approval I'll take care that the printers will get the necessary films for production from me.

It's also very nice that it's only 7.5 km (4.5 ml) from home, instead of the
28 km (17ml) I used to travel. Heck: I'll even have to dust off the ole bicycle 'cause during summer I intend to be riding it again!

Good for you, Tony.

I can only imagine that this will reduce some of the stresses of life just a bit...mostly.

Great news Tony! Felizidades.

Let me know how you get on and if you like it there because I have a good business contact for you in Venray. She's a buyer for an international company. I was the Creative Director for Europe for them (based in London) until I escaped to Playa.

It will reduce some, but also increase some. Meaning the deadlines that I'll be facing and the fact that I'm a newbie with Adobe Illustrator which I will be working with a lot.
No need to worry though, since I look forward to the challenge of trying to master it eventually.

Thanks for the well wishes AND the offer! I'll take you up on it as the time seems fit! Never enough clients, right?

Great news Tony. What an excellent way to finish off this year and start the next. We are really happy for you. And now with your work situation resolved you can focus on the important things in life...you know...Margaritas, beaches, shrimp tacos .
