Riu Yucatan

Sorry, but it's Monday and I'm a bit too lazy to search the forum. Just a quick question to those in the know. Does the Riu Yucatan employ the same dining policy as the Palace? i.e. Two "reserved" seatings for the buffet.

Thanks,

Brandon

There's no longer reserved seatings for the buffet at any of the PDC Rius. It's all open seating 6:30 to 10:30 Have fun.

Well to be honest I wasn't sure if I'd like the open seating. Always liked the same time same table same waiter scenario. After a couple of days we sure adjusted quickly. It was nice to be able to stay in the lounge for an extra drink or "gee, lets sit outside with so and so waiter". Loved the change.

i like open seating my self. riu's actually sat you at your own table. on a cruise you sit with others.
by what i read the buffet is open seating. not the reservation style restaurants. the food was very good there couple of years ago.

Absolutley! When on vacation the last thing I want to be confined to is any type of schedule! This is, indeed, very good news and just catapulted the Riu Yucatan to the top of my list.

Is it wrong that we hit the buffet one night early and then went over to our reserved dinner later than night. Sure was some good "double dipping"...

What about the pants for guys at Yucatan? Do you have to wear them at night in any place to eat on property?

...long pants were required in the evening at the yucatan's specialty restaurants, but not at la hacienda's main buffet...my husband always takes several pairs so that he has them if needed...and, sometimes changes back into shorts after dinner...
