Chance to go 12/24-28, but can I get a room???
I have a great last minute opportunity to get back to Playa Dec 24-28. We both can get off work...cheap flight...too good to pass up. And, oh, how we need a shot of Playa right now.
But, I am striking out on hotels big time...no surprise, though, huh? Anyone know a secret??? I would be oh, so, thankful. Though I am tempted, my girlfriend will not be open to schleping. ![]() |

Well, I can't say for sure personally, but when I was in Playa last week - I KNOW I heard Tony and Cheri (the Team Zanzibar folks!
) say on more than one occasion that there wasn't a room left in Playa for Xmas week. And if they said it, then I take that as THE word. :p Now I'm not sure if you can find something besides a hotel, like a condo or something - or maybe you can find one hotel for one night, another for the next night... Then again, during holiday time periods, there's often a minimum stay requirement of 7 nights or more, for most hotels anyway. But no matter what, I think it's going to be VERY difficult. Maybe someone else will chime in with a suggestion. I do wish ya the best of luck though! |

I'm feeling lucky right now and won't give up without a fight...or at least a small struggle. Even the prospect of 4 short days in Playa will make me do desperate things....
I got a lead on an availability last week that a friend had to turn down because the dates didn't work. They would work perfectly for us. I'm waiting to hear back. Other than that, I'm just casting out emails, hoping I get a bite. Yes, there is always something, James. Italics duly noted. In the meantime, I'm trying to think of clever ways to convince my gf that schleping can be fun... |

It's worth a shot. A lot of the smaller places I bet have openings, because their internet presence has been lousy this year. Try Hotel Molcas; I let my reservation there lapse for Xmas week, because they would never email me back.

Try www.tropicalcasablanca.com. They usually put people we refer for $50 a night but I hear over the holidays it is $110. You can email or call Reyna or Judy (Hootie). Tell them Tim and Kecee (Casey) sent you. I think she has a couple of rooms left. They don't take credit cards, cash and traveler's checks only. Their number from the States is 011-52-984-873-0057.
