Feeling sad for our friends across the street. The matriarch of the family is dying. She raised quite a family. She has lived at our friends house for the last 3 years while the took care of her. Saturday they could not wake her, she suffered a stroke and is lapsing in and out of a coma. The whole family showed up yesterday and again today, and they are waiting. She was a great woman, put up with an asshole of a husband finally leaving him about 20 years ago, after she reached the age of 60. She makes a great tamale filling.

Consuelo is a great woman who has influenced many even outside of her family (me included
). It is my greatest hope that she passes quietly, and in no pain. Her brave spirit (and wonderful upbeat humor) will be missed by all that know and love her...
