HELP! Riu Palace vs. Secrets Excellence or Capri
My wife and I have been to the Riu Palace Mexico a number of times. We love it there and have had only fabulous experiences. We are planning to go back to the Mayan Riviera in June and are considering trying something different. We have always considered the Palace to be the best "bang for the buck" but I am now able to book one of the Secrets resorts for about the same price. While it is tempting, I know we'll compare secrets to the Palace and I don't want to be disappointed. If there's anyone who has been to both the Riu Palace and either Secrets Excellence or Capri, your input would be invaluable. (We considered RH briefly but it is still hundreds more expensive per person).
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks. |

Sunny D - I don't think you will be disappointed if you choose Secrets Capri. My husband and I had a wonderful time there. We haven't been the Rui Palace, but others told us Secrets wins hands down. The food and service are said to be superior to the Palace and you don't need reservations for dinner at Secrets. Also there is 24 hour room service and no children. Personally, I think there is no contest if you can get the Capri for the same price. Either way, enjoy!

Secrets Excellence
The only AI I've been to is Secrets Excellence and we found it to be fantastic. The service, food, rooms, everything was exceptional. We loved the fact that all of the restaurants are ala carte. The only possible negative was that there was some sea grass in the water. This didn't stop people from going in though. We had a swim out room and loved the fact that we could walk out in our "back yard" and have the pool and our loungers and hammock right there. It was great getting bar service delivered right to our back yard. I would definetely recommend SE.
