I am shipping a car out manana from Panama City (Linea Peninsular Shipping). Got my Temp. Import Sticker at The MX Consulate (Banjercito) in Austin, TX last week which took me all of 10 minutes (at most). Will pick up car in Progresso
Xusing a freight forwarder.
As far as Belize, The Duty Free Zone ain't really Belize. Some people call it No Man's Land. Title can just be signed over at Aduana at MX border.
I was just there 3 weeks ago. It all can be done legally.
Sorry, if you do not like the information I provided. I only commented because, I have lived in Belize and now live in Playa and am aware of the "rules" regarding selling a foreign plated vehicle. I have personal experience as I have a foreign plated vehicle here and sold one in Belize.
You are talking about shipping a vehicle, not selling a foreign plated vehicle when the duty has not been paid.
And, yes, the duty free zone is really in Belize.
Theoretically the Duty Free Zone is located in Belize as some consider it as Corozal. But since you have not entered Belize (actually not cleared Belize Customs or Immigration) are you REALLY in Belize? That's why many call the
D.F.Z. = NO MAN'S LAND.
I have driven 5 cars to Playa and have sold three. I have been through and done all legally. Have been to the border (southern) probably 8 to 10 times for auto related dealings.
And it is not that I don't like the info you provided, it is just that it is not all correct.
