Which Hotel?

I am planning my first visit in March. I am considering Riviera Del Sol, Villa Amanacer, and Zanzibar Hotel. I want to be near the north beach, but be able to walk to town for dinner. Which do you recommend and why? Thanks.

I would suggest that you read " a new year and a new name "....problem solved .

I stayed at Villa Amanecer over Thanksgiving. The rooms were very nice and clean with a fridge and safe. The staff were excellent and always ready to help out. Stay on the 2nd or 3rd floors and have a great ocean view. Also, it is only about 200 yds to Playa Toucan and Mamitas ( I could see them from my room ).

We have stayed at both the Amanecer and the Rivera del Sol. We would stay in either again. Both have large clean rooms and good staff. The Rivera is a little closer to the beach but thier ocean view is blocked by the new condos across the street. The Luna Blue also looks very nice. They are all in the same general area.

If you are talking the Protec Dive Shop on Avenue 30 and Calle 4, then it is "Mom's Hotel."

Riviera del Sol - clean, quiet, close to 5th and the beach.

After a closer look....

I looked there web site up, (http://www.momshotel.com/) and I don't think this is the same Hotel. Does anyone know if there is another one connected to the ProTec Dive Shop?

From their website at protecdiving.com:

Calle 4 between Avenida 30 and 25 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (located under Moms Hotel) Feel free to call us locally at 803-1168 (from outside of Mexico you must dial 011-52-984-803-1168)
Definitely located under Mom's hotel....

I would check out the website to see if another location might be throwing you off....??

Luna Blue will be the new name of the Hotel Zanzibar as of January 15th. The new website should be up about that time. Until then the Hotel Zanzibar site should answer any questions. If not, feel free to PM us.
