Kaki's NOW Jade + Isla Mujeres Day Trippin' Trip Report
Hi peeps, been back a month and very tardy in posting a trip report, but I am going to try to get it going now.
We booked the NOW Jade Riviera Cancun in Puerto Morelos for 9 nights from June 2-11…Through the best travel agent ever, and someone I consider to be one of the coolest chicks I know, Miss Shammy aka Lone Palm Travel. Thanks AnnaLynne
It was a fantastic trip, maybe our best to Mexico yet. This is one of my favorite pics from the trip, so I am going to share it now…
Also, before I get into the specifics of the resort and our trip, you should know we had a stowaway on the trip…Mr. Bill!
He had a great time, and had a few adventures of his own. To start with, being the suspicious character he is, TSA subjected him to a full body scan.
But received VIP treatment on the plane with a visit to the cockpit.
Once we landed, I knew we would be on an Apple bus, so I paid my $6.00+ for my airport beer and we were off to the resort.
My main criteria was having a separate bedroom for me and Miles , and a compact enough resort where Grant (11) and Jackson (8) could have some independence without me worrying about them getting lost going back and forth to the room. Oh, by the way…for those of you who have seen old trip reports from back when they were in diapers, or met them in person at some point, here they are on this last trip. My boys are growing up SO fast!!
Back to the resort…great beach, pools, food were also high on the list. In short, we wanted it all!
For me, being close to PDC wasn’t a priority this trip as we had our hearts set on an Isla Mujeres and Crococun day trip and were fine with being a little further north. The NOW Jade in Puerto Morelos was the perfect solution for us.
Shammy booked us in a Preferred Club Ocean View suite with a separate bedroom, Jacuzzi on the balcony, and an amazing view! We had some pretty specific requests that Shammy sent along for us, and much to my delight all of our wishes were honored, and then some!
We had asked for a room in building 6 or 7 (we got building 7), a higher floor (we got the 3rd floor), two double beds in the bedroom, and 2 cots / rollaways in the living room (yes, there was more than enough room for the 2 cots in the Preferred Club suite, and the couch).
Check-in was very “pampering” in the Preferred Club lounge, and right from the start we were wow’d by this resort. Here are some room pics…

Separate bedroom
I have many more room pics and I will choose a few more to post for those who want to get an idea of the accommodations. Right now, I am feeling frustrated with photobucket (keeps crashing) and need to “walk away!” I need to pick this back up from Miles’ Macbook Pro, where everything is easier.
I am happy to have gotten the trip report started, though, and will be back for another installment tomorrow. Until then, I will leave you with a shot of my favorite place to hang out.
And Miles' favorite perch in the Infinity pool...
Coming up, I will share lots of resort photos, Puerto Morelos town square photos, Crococun Zoo, The Little English Schoolhouse, and Isla Mujeres photos too!
And more of this guy and his adventures…
