This is true, people can not come and go as they please at an AI resort. He wouldn't be able to come in with a girl, which would be by taxi through the front gate I would assume. They will stop him, check his wristband and since the girl wouldn't have one, she wouldn't be allowed in. However, who he might sneak in off the beach is another story. But I highly doubt you're going to find prostitutes hanging around on the beach in Akumal.
I don't know how else to respond to this.

I've spent a lot of years moderating on this board and this is a new one! I have a 20 year old and while I know he wouldn't be out looking for prostitutes, I also wouldn't let him go to Mexico alone. Yeah, maybe I'm a bit overprotective, but he's also pretty immature for his age - I'm not sure he'd get how to travel alone to Mexico, even if he was with friends. I'd be more worried about overdrinking, getting hurt while overdrinking, doing something stupid while overdrinking (because when people travel, they often forget to pack their common sense!) and things like that. There's really not much you can do I guess, if you're allowing him to go, he will be able to do what he wants even if it means traveling to Playa to do that. All the heart to heart talks we have with our kids, some of those talks fall on deaf ears! The ball is in his court, he's either going to fly straight...or not!
