Oasis Puerto Aventuras
Has anybody been to the Oasis Puerto Adventuras lately. We are going in Feburary and I have gotten different reviews. My travel agent says it is being refurbished is this true? How is the food? Where in the resort are the best rooms? Where is the best/cheapest dive store in PDC?
Any info you have would be great Thanks |

Oasis Puerto Aventuras
Jim
We got married at Puerto Aventuras Oasis in September 2002. We had 30 people with us. Everybody had a great time. The staff was excellent. The food was good, but for the price, what a deal. The hotel put all of our guests in ocean view rooms. The top floor is the place to be. If you don't have 30 people with you, the night life would be just O.K.., but Senior Frogs is just a 15 minute taxi ride away. The area of Puerto Aventuras has a marina, shopping area, a place to swim with the dolphins, a ferry to Cozemel, a small golf course (all within a short walking distance) and is centrally located. The beach directly in front of the hotel is small but protected so access to white sand (no rocks), swimming and snorkeling is great. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning in the bar, but I'm not sure if any air conditioning would have worked at that time of year due to the humidity. You probably will not have that problem in February. We really enjoyed our stay and just got off the internet looking for property in Puerto Aventuras. Visit Yalku Lagoon and be sure to do your homework, there are so many places to discover. We travel a lot and this place is perfect if your looking for that not too small but not too fancy place. The price most certainly allows you to enjoy the other wonders of the area. Enjoy! |

Me too!
I also just made reservations for February to stay here. I am curious to find out any more information on the area/hotel also. What week are you all going? I saw the price and had to book, especially it being all inclusive. Anyone let me know if you find anything more about the hotel! Thanks!

Run!!!
RUN........RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN; away from this resort!!!!The most miserable 7 days of our lives. The food was so terrible the cats would not eat it. The mold on the lamps, ceiling, and baseboards was totally disgusting. Having traveled to Mexico many, many times and never being ready to leave; except for this exception. If you can get your money back - do it before you subject yourself to the grief you will ensue. |

I find it hard to believe that a wedding party of 30 people had a great time but one individual posts that the "cats" would not eat the food? Did you bring cats? How would you know this? I am a firm believer that there are many different types of people which lead to different interpretations of things. Having said that I will be at this resort mid-March for 5 nights and would be happy to post what it was like. I can believe that there may be a humidity/mold problem in alot of resorts because of the climate. I think if it was that bad then you should have requested a different room. On the other hand some people are just complainers.
