Courtesy of Shreck 2, a must see!

But of course, if you are eating your Taco de cochinita in the bus, it will be very uncomfortable to see the surrounding guys with that face begging for a bite.

One of our favorite breakfast foods is a large plate of queso empanadas
from a street vender on calle 4 y calle 20. It's a busy place so you
might have to wait to get served. Love the cabbage and sauces. The
first time hubby ordered his, he thought that the verde sauce would not
be as hot as the rojo. He sloped on a lot. After the first bite he had
tears running down his face. Thankfully we didn't let that stop us from going back. Can't wait for January 6th, PDC here we come.
If you see us down there say "Hola!". He is tall and I am short. Does that help?

Finally I can put a picture of the taco stands (Michael H posted one earlier as I just saw, but in a different forum).
This guys will make tacos or tortas (with half baguettes). Tacos are mx$5 each. Tortas mx$12. They have Cochinita pibil or Relleno negro (chicken with a dark sauce, non spicy), try one of each at the begining to learn which one you prefer.

A couple of the stands have other things like chicken or steak but I didn't try them as my main goal was the cochinita pibil which is difficult to get at other places / hours with this good flavor. If you are worried that the guys grab the meat and tortillas with their bare hands, don't, this way is tastier than McDonalds and the guy that handles the money is a different one.

---------edit.-------------------
Now, I tried the other carts, some sell Milanesa (breaded beef), chicken, beef and one in speciall (he runs out of everything really early) has breaded shrimps, breaded fish and other seafoodl.
Price increased, all kind of tacos are now 7 pesos (Feb 2006)

The "Mexican food" article from the "eating out" page found under the "things to do" subheading in the "read more" section (see tab top of page) is a good place to start for the basics... click here.
