My Holiday Season is not quite over yet. I have entertained three times already since Christmas and having hubby's family over tomorrow for dinner. Then we are going to a party on the 31st. So our decorations will not come down until after the New Year - probably the following weekend. Need to recuperate first.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

We always take them down on the 6th January, I think to coincide with the departure of the Three Wise Men. Don't know why, it's what I've always been told to do...

Somehow with that arrow through your head and your reported disdain for the Catholic faith it seems to me that you might not ALWAYS do what you are told?

I think you may just be holding open your possibilities for el dia de los tres reyes?

No, my Dad was an atheist but he followed catholic traditions, and so I got used to do it. My wife is a - lapsed - catholic, so I go with the flow.

There's also something of the mercenary in me, I suppose, when it comes to turning down all those lovely presents!

As to the Catholic Church, it's their constant hipocrisy, belittling of everyone else and conveniently forgetting their history that riles me. But that's another thread...

Sometime the middle of January or whenever I get around to it. I figure it is so much darn work getting them up that I plan to enjoy it as long as possible.

Ours has us singing (to the tune of We Wish You A Merry Christmas)

Mike: We wish we were here to get this
Ryan: We wish we were here to get this
Char: We wish we were here to get this
All: But we're not at home

Mike: So please leave a message for us
Ryan: So please leave a message for us
Char: Yes, please leave a message for us
All: At the sound of the tone!

So technically, it never SAYS Christmas anywhere... just the Christmas melody that we set the words to... which buys us time to come up with something hopefully by summer....

Indoor decorations came down about 4 hours ago. Outdoor ones can wait till 'The Thaw', which is usually about late April or early May!!

Outdoor came down yesterday... it was 70+ outside, gotta take advantage! Indoor came down last night and today... Mike was on some kind of tear...

So now I've been putting the non-holiday stuff back where it goes... big problem is that I can't remember how I had everything. Anyone else ever have that problem??
