I know Playa and the surrounding areas are all beautiful! But I'm looking for any specific places to have a very small cremony and exchange of vows.....

Here's what we are doing:

Our wedding reception is schedule for next summer here at home. We need the time to save our money and we're hosting it in our yard so it has to be in the summer. However, we don't want to wait until next year to get married and we already booked a trip to Playa using airline points. We are staying with our best friends in a 2 bedroom condo making it a very inexpensive trip.

We'd love to get married on the beach in Playa....we don't want to hassel with arriving 4 days before, getting blood test, hiring an officiant, translator, and all that paperwork. We have a friend who lives here but has a condo in Cancun and he can legally perform marriages here. So we'd apply for our license here at home and do all the paperwork here but have a nice ceremony and exchange of vows with him and our best friends on the beach. Then next summer we share a day celebrating with all our friends and family.

So if you could get married anywhere along the Riviera Maya, where would it be?

We don't need any kind of back drop like an arch.... we just want beautiful scenery. Since it's just us and our 2 friends, no need for chairs, sound sytem, or musicians. So no point in renting a place or hiring a wedding planner.

I would like to hire a videographer and a photographer....maybe get a flower bouquet and have my hair done...but that's it. No point in getting a cake....I have to eat gluten free anyways (we'll have gluten free wedding cake at home next summer) but the 5 of us will probably go somewhere nice for dinner.

Any suggestions or recommendations?
