Maya Coba
I have recently read something about a new resort coming to the Riviera Maya in '06 called the Maya Coba.
Has anyone else heard of this...what seems to be a very unique, resort? Apparantly it is Eco-friendly, using boats as main means of transportation. I am an Iberostar junky myself, but am open to trying out other resorts. In fact, I was booked at EDR in Dec. until Wilma...then just switched to Iberostar Lindo/Maya..where I was married 2 weeks ago. Quetzal 2 times, Lindo 1 time, and Maya 1 time...all in the last 2 years. Love the Iberostar! Back to the point though, I can't find any info on Maya Coba so far and was wondering if anyone can help? |

It's actually called the Fairmont Mayakoba, and it's not an all inclusive property. It's due to be finished some time in April (they are now taking reservations from April 1st and onwards) as Hurricane Wilma delayed the opening.
It's going to be a very upscale resort, the rooms will have soaker tubs, LCD TV's with DVD players and in room high speed internet access. There's 24 hour room service, two pools (one with an infinity edge, adults only with a swim up bar ), 5 restaurants and 5 bars. There is an 18 hole Greg Norman golf course called El Camaleon (his first in Mexico!) on the grounds and lots of emphasis on the spa facilities (the Willow Stream Spa) - with 20 treatment rooms, a couples suite in the treetops, two mineral pools and a various steam rooms.
