Aventura Spa Palace and Ikel Del Mar

We stayed at the Aventura Palace mid December 2005 and it was even better than when we stayed there five years ago. We, and everyone else that we ran in to, loved the place and were treated like royalty. They recovered nicely from the storm and are upgrading a lot of areas. Ikel Del Mar is back on it's feet and is a superb place to stay if you can afford it.

We're going there in April. We were last there 2 yrs ago and were wondering how ASP faired thru the storms and renovations.

We are heading back to the ASP on the 1st of April (hopefully that isn't an omen), If you are there the same time you can find us at the lobby bar on the Aventura side in the evenings.

It faired very well. The newer Spa side was completely open and habitable, but they were completing work on the other side, which should be completed by April. All pools were open, and all but 1 restaurant. It will probably be in better shape than when you went there two years ago. BTW, I'm very jealous. We're planning on going again this year, but we'll wait until after Uncle Sam has his way with us first.

Does anyone know if Angel is still working the bar? He was last working at the bar in the Aventura Bar lobby.
