Favorite Mexican Dish
I'm actually starting this thread just so I won't have to look at the word "Pizza" every time I go to the main forum board because it makes me drool since I'm trying to get back to eating healthy.
But... I'll ask the question anyway: What's your favorite (real, as opposed to Tex-Mex or Americanized) Mexican Dish? I have almost too many favorites to name just one, but I'll go with... Tacos al Pastor (because I can't think of anything else besides f%&@ing pizza at the moment! Last edited by Susie Q Roo : 01-03-2006 at 09:50 PM. |

Is Chile Relanos a real Mexican dish? It is my favorite and I make it all the time at home. After my trip to Playa next week and the holidays, I will be eating celery sticks and oatmeal
I also like those tortillas soaked in red or green sause (chila quiles)Sp?? The other favorite thing that we always eat is at ASP for breakfast is we like eggs with black beans on top and the chila quiles and sour cream. Probably not real Mexican fair but thats my favorite. |

Chiles Rellenos are truly mexican (not Aztec). http://www.chilepepper.com/articles/...?articleID=121 Chilaquiles are the traditional breakfast for a large chunk of the population here. And they are also very pre-hispanic mexican, only the cream or cheese part is an imported thing, as the Aztecs didn´t had any at their time. http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/recipe_chilaquiles.htm |
