Eldorado Seaside Suites May 06'

There are 3 couples all around 40 yrs old going to Playa in May. W have done some research and are thinking of Eldorado Seaside Suites. We all like to drink and have a good time. Is the entertainment (nightly shows, etc) pretty good? We went to the Sun Palace (Cancun) in 2000 and the nightly shows were the best. Also any thoughts on which room is worth the money; oceanview, jacuzzi, etc. We have never been to Playa and are going to spend 7 days there any information would greatly be appreciated.

My husband wants to go fishing....
We like snorkeling....
Swim with dolphins?
Is the beer cold? Very Important.....

We want to chill and have fun, but I dont want it to be so quiet we are bored....

Thanks in advance!!!

We stayed at EDSS in April 2005 and really enjoyed it. However if you are looking for a big party time, it's prbably not your place. It is pretty laid back, the entertainment is good, but again not a big party. I snorkeled there every day, it was good but not fantastic. The dolphin thing and fishing are available off-site at several other places around PDC, but not at EDSS itself, though you can probably book them there. And yes, the beer was cold.

Thank you so much! It sounds like the place for us, we never went to any of the bars in Cancun. There seems to be several things around the hotel to do and just hang out around the pool. I am trying to decide on which room to get. The package comes with the garden view, then there is ocean view, ocean front and jacuzzi. Of course each room costing a little more....any suggestions on that? I really appreciate your help!!

We had a jucuzzi suite, one of the newer rooms. It was very nice. They have remodeled some rooms, but I am not sure which ones, and they have added more new rooms. I would suggest staying with the basic package, see how you like it when you get there. After you get there you may be able to upgrade to a higher grade room at a lost less cost. We did that in 2003 at El Dorado Royale and saved quite a bit of money. There's no guarantee you'll be able to upgrade, depends on what they have available when you get there, but it may be worth a chance.

We are set to go to El Dorado for the second time, May 6th. We were there in Sept '98, but not since then. We are looking forward to it. Had a great time last time we were there. Strangely enough, we also go to Sun Palace in May most years. When are you going to be there?

Craig,
Nice slide show. Thanks for posting it. Cant wait to go back there. If possible, please let me know how the food was. Especially the mexican resturant and the quesidillas at the outdoor grill.
Thanks again.

Thank you! The food at EDSS was very good, but inconsistent at times. EDSS is owned by Karisma and is a sister resort to El Dorado Royale. The food at EDR was tremendous and we were told by one of the restraunt managers at EDSS that they are strivng to equal the quality at EDR. I am sure they have improved and will continue to improve.
