Occidental Grand Flamenco Xcaret or Sunscape Puerto Aventuras?

Need your collective esteemed help! We have the OGFX booked for a week on February 16, but travel agent just called and said it is not 100%, that a pool and 2 restaurants will be closed until April. They offered Sunscape PA as a five star alternative. My only experience with Sunscape, in the DR, was not too good. Any suggestions?

I only have a minute to comment - on hold with someone...

My answer would be no-and yes, I have stayed there. It's not a great property, lots of little problems that add up, not a great beach, little pool...just not comparable. Then again, I'm not fond of OGFX either.

Look at the Barcelo Maya, Bahia, Iberostar's, Riu's if you want a decent 5 star resort.
