When I was there I don't remember seeing anyone in the pool. I did see people in the hot tub at night though. You could email the resort and ask. E-mail: real@realresorts.com.mx
Have a great time it is a nice resort and the bonus is being so close to 5th street for some late night partying

We are trying to upgrade to a Mayan suite but from some of the comments -it looks like the Junior suites are big enough(my wife brings lots of luggage) Any photos from your trip? ljm |

Oh have a great time at Royal, as long as you get a room that is inside the "U" it will be a nice view. (and yes they are very big) The pool closes at night but just don't remember when. By then we were already out and enjoying the buffet and getting ready for 5th street. Have a Miami Vice or two or three or four for me. Went before they were officially opened in June 2005, it was an awesome experience for a first time trip to Playa or to any place as pretty as the Riviera Maya. Have fun.

We were in the U area facing the pool and had a great view of the ocean. I don't think you can go wrong with any rooms in the U area. As far at the Suite, we saw one while we were there and they are cool. They have there own private Juccuzi/mini pool on the balcony. The Junior suites were big enough for us. The bath/jacuzi in the room was huge! I do have photos but they aren't digital so I can't send. Have fun! |

I don't remember the number...it was in the 3 hundreds (third floor, great view). There was no one above us so no noise! We were there when they just opened so it wasn't at capacity. The nice thing about the Royal is you can use the Gala also. I thought the Gala resturants were better than the Royal. Make sure you go to the ****** one night. Try to go to their fire show. It is a great bar on the beach off of 5th avenue. The bar stools are swings and the music is good. |

Why would you be able to use the Gala if you stay at the Royal Porto Real? They're not owned by the same company. Do you mean the Gran Porto Real? |
