Three things that come to mind right off...... Insulated mug to keep those drinks cold. Biodegradable sunsceen to protect the coral reefs. USD $1's for tipping. Been to the Gala befor (three years ago) you'll love it. Don't forget to get into town to check it out. Have fun!!

You will need to take a hat. Hats can be used at the pool and when you are out and about. Don't forget sunglasses.

Sunscreen SPF 15, 30 even 45 for forehead and ears.

Insulated mug(s) and dollar bills as was mentioned.

A small soft sided cooler to take ice back to the room after a day at the beach. Ice will last 'til the next afternoon and you'll have ice cold bottled water during the day at the beach.

GALA rocks.

One more ?. We have upgraded to the Royal Club, do all of these rooms have GOOD views of the ocean. For example did the same thing at an Iberostar once and they put us on the bottom floor and all you could see was palm trees. Is there a particular room I could request before hand that anyone has experience with? Thanks again...

We stayed at the Gala last year and upgraded to the Royal Club. We were on the third floor of the north building. It was the best ocean view we have ever had. I would suggest an upper floors for the better views. More stairs but worth the climb.

Hey just a little thing that I find comes in handy are ziplock bags, for wet swimsuits or other things that you want to protect from the sand. Have a great time!

A few years back, before we purchased our own Condo, we stayed at the Gala, Royal Club, and it was wonderful. We were actually on the bottom floor, and loved it as we just walked out of our door right onto the beach. The Italian Ala Carte Restaurant was to die for, and make sure you get a massage or two, or three from Andy, if he is still there. OMG, he was delightful!!

A small first aid kit, (good for friends who take a spill)
Dollar bills (for better service from bartenders and maids)
Extra pair of shades (I either lose a pair of break em')
ATM card (easy way to get pesos for drinks and treats)
Scented Candles (for setting the mood or removing odors)
Birth control of choice (Playa puts you in the mood)
